The Queensland Art Gallery is Queensland's premier visual arts institution and a leading art museum nationally. The Gallery's driving philosophy is to connect art and people. Since opening, the Gallery's Collection, exhibitions, audiences and programs have grown in size, complexity and diversity. The Gallery is committed to profiling Indigenous Australian art and strengthening relationships with Queensland's Indigenous communities. It is also recognised as an international leader in presenting innovative museum-based learning programs for children.

The Gallery of Modern Art complements the existing building. Only 200 metres away and linked by a public plaza, the spectacular Gallery of Modern Art focuses on art of the twentieth and twenty-first centuries.

Queensland Museum, a fascinating museum of natural history, cultural heritage, science and human achievement, tells the changing story of Queensland. It is housed alongside the Queensland Sciencentre which features interactive displays, state-of-the-art technology and incredible science exhibits and activities.

Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) is a world-class facility and a 'second home' to some of the state's leading performing arts companies including Queensland Theatre Company, Queensland Ballet, the Queensland Orchestra and Opera Queensland. QPAC also hosts many international entrepreneurs and independent producers. The year round calendar features comedy, drama, opera, children’s theatre and more.

Since 1902, the State Library of Queensland has provided library services to the people of Queensland. The State Library is Australia's custodian of Queensland documentary heritage, a major reference and research library, and advocate and financial partner of a statewide public library network.

The Queensland Maritime Museum, located at the southern end of South Bank Parklands, traces Queensland’s maritime history through photographs, paintings and models. Visitors can explore the grounds for more displays of yachts, cannons and a lighthouse.

The Brisbane Convention & Exhibition Centre is officially ranked among the leading convention centres in the world by the International Association of Congress Centres (Finalist 2003 - 2005 AIPC Apex Awards - World's Best Congress Centre). A purpose-built, world-class events venue, the Centre offers superb flexibility and versatility, playing host to an increasing number of high profile international and national conferences and events.
