Little Stanley Street's Inaugral Christmas Feast

Little Stanley Street's Inaugral Christmas Feast

3 November 2009

Christmas party goers yearning for a sublime end-of-year celebration will revel in sophistication when Little Stanley Street is transformed into an atmospheric haven for one night of dining splendour on Friday 18 December.

In the spirit of community celebration and indulgent street life, more than 600 guests will experience a unique dining event in an alluring sanctuary filled with chic installations, sculptural lights, richly adorned tables and exquisite food and wine.

This partnership event between South Bank Corporation, Little Stanley Street restaurateurs and Make-A-Wish Foundation will launch the precinct's weekend of pre-Christmas celebrations: 18 December to the 20 December 2009.

After entering through a breathtaking 'garden of light' guests will be seated at twenty-six intricately decorated tables stretching along the full length of Little Stanley Street.

A restaurateur from each of Little Stanley Street's dining establishments will preside over two communal tables, offering their guests a seasonal menu designed specially for the evening that combines Christmas fare with their signature cuisine style.

In between courses, diners can mingle in five richly detailed lounge areas evocatively decorated with Moroccan ottomans, black chesterfields and chandeliers.

The general public is invited to 'come on over' and soak up the atmosphere in the lounge areas by either settling in one for the evening or progressing from lounge to lounge to enjoy wine and tapas; light bites and local beers; coffee and pastries and chocolate fondue and Christmas-inspired treats to finish.

A DJ will mix contemporary ambient tracks and smooth measured beats while blending musical accompaniment spanning several musical styles from bar-lounge and jazz to classical and world/ethnic-inspired.

Tickets for diners range from $50-$100 depending on the restaurant chosen and includes a three course meal and beverage packages. Five dollars from every ticket purchased will be donated to the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

South Bank Corporation's GM, Marketing Susie Johnson is excited about the first Christmas Feast.

"We've conjured a creative Christmas celebration like never before - an event that will bring together our precinct's businesses and the community in an unforgettable night."
