Mother and daughter team, Colyn and Charlotte Devereux, recently celebrated the tenth birthday of their internationally acclaimed fashion business, EGG Maternity (EGG), located on Little Stanley St, South Bank.
Since hatching in Charlotte Devereux's New Zealand home, the label's tremendous evolution has seen the pair secure 42 stockists and launch 14 EGG stores throughout Australia, New Zealand, Singapore and the United Kingdom.
EGG Founder and Designer, Charlotte Devereux, said she was excited about what the label had achieved since her own pregnancy inspired the creation of EGG ten years ago.
"This tenth anniversary is a huge and exciting milestone for us and we really want to thank our customers, who have helped us come this far.
"EGG was launched after I could not find stylish clothes while pregnant, so my mother and I began designing fashionable and comfortable maternity clothes I could also wear after my little bambino arrived," Ms Devereux said.
EGG was rated one of New Zealand's fastest growing companies in the 2004 Deloitte's Fast 50 and received acceptance into New Zealand Trade and Enterprises' prestigious Beachheads program for high growth companies in 2007.
The future looks bright for this mother and daughter combo, with the label set to soon launch into the South African market.
EGG, South Bank, complements the numerous baby and early childhood initiatives throughout Little Stanley Street, including Mums n Bubs Café, a unique venue in Stanley Street Plaza that has been designed with mother and child in mind.
Other child-friendly projects initiated by South Bank Corporation across South Bank include the Vaalia Feelgood Program, a free weekly yoga class for mothers and their babies, an interactive water play park, Aquativity, and a new playground to be launched early 2011.

A true testament to the businesses' remarkable growth, EGG launched its first ever international model search earlier this year.
