This Sunday September 6, Brisbane will celebrate 150 years of separation from Sydney events that will take place across the city, at locations including the Parklands at South Bank, the Goodwill Bridge and the Botanical Gardens.
As part of the program, Picnic Island will be transformed into Sports Central for the day, where visitors can meet their sporting heroes. Stars from football, swimming, netball, hockey and other sports will be signing autographs, being interviewed and chatting with fans.
The day's festivities also include a concert series, Loud and Large, which will take place in the Suncorp Piazza and an arts program that will take place on the Rainforest Green showcasing some of Brisbane's talented writers, choirs, dancers and singers.
