The designs for the new look Boardwalk site was unveiled by Queensland Premier Anna Bligh on Tuesday 22 December 2009.
This new Queensland style design will see new and high quality riverfront open space being delivered to the people of Queensland in what will be one of the most significant changes to the Parklands precinct in ten years.
Early works on the Boardwalk project begun in February 2010 and the finished development will have a significantly reduced level of commercial development on the site to ensure that visitors can enjoy new quality green space.
The bold design by award winning Brisbane architects Arkhefield and landscape architects Cardno S.P.L.A.T will feature six quality waterfront restaurants and cafes as well as a new innovative playground for children.
